Hearts of Gold Initiative

The program "Hearts of Gold" began in October, 2008, uniting the youth of St. Patrick Elementary School, in Rockland, ON, with seniors from Les Jardins Belle Rive. The program was formed in the manner of "adopt-a-grandparent style program" under the direction of Bro Pat Callaghan from Council 13049.

It is designed to educate our young people about how seniors live today, what roles they played in earlier days and to share the great wealth of historical knowledge they have about the life in Rockland, our country and possibly around the world.
